For over a decade, Mechanicsburg native Doug Stoup has pushed the limits of
human endurance in the most remote regions on Earth. He shares his experiences by
speaking at schools and businesses; and providing real-time internet expedition coverage,
and documentary films. The advances in technology and digital video have made it
possible to document and share his experience.

Noel Ramos has published a music magazine for 20 years. He'll relate his
experiences and results of surveys he's conducted with media peers. What grabs
their attention? What convinces them to print one band's story over another? What
do booking agents like to see? What else should you keep in mind? Has the advent of
EPKs changed things? These answers and more from the perspective of those you
want to target. Examples of press kits will be shown, and a free hand-out of Noel's
7 page "Press Kit Primer" will also be available for all workshop attendees.

Producer Blake Althen of Human Factor takes three vocal and guitar tracks
and, in real time, creates three versions of the song right before your eyes. At each step,
Blake explains the concepts, techniques, and practices top-notch producers use to
bring out the best qualities of a song.
Participants experience the actual production of a finished song and learn
key production principles, including initial evaluation of the song, design of a
final product, selection of production techniques, and use of the best hardware
and software to complete production. The seminar is a dynamic and live demonstration
of all aspects of production: performance, arrangement, and technology. This session
will feature special guest Eugene Foley.
